I live, work, and play on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney. The City of Calgary was originally called Moh’kinsstis by the Blackfoot tribes, it is where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and also home to the Métis Nation, Region 3. I give thanks to the indigenous peoples, caretakers of this land since time immemorial, may they flourish and guide us in re-connection to the land and one another.
